Hours before my water broke...

 39 Weeks & 5 days

Just a few hours before Joe came home from work I saw a cute picture on pinterest that I wanted to add to my bump collection. So I got things ready and took some shots. Little did I know my water would break in just a few hours. So here's to the end of my pregnancy! We had our ups and downs and for the most part you were so good to me. I had a good lasting impression so hopefully I can do this again!

Bum update

I know you've been praying for me because I feel like I'm getting better. I'm still in pain, but the Tylenol codeine is helping with that. I haven't had a break down today so that good. And even though I really shouldn't I'm thinking about getting up to go pick up some milk. We will see. For now champ and I, well I am very happy just laying in bed and soaking my bum in warm water. I have googled everything about blot clot hemorrhoids and home remedies and the warm bath is my favorite. I think after an hour last night in there I thought it went way completely, but I was wrong. Well, as long as I can hold off labor for just a few more days I will be thrilled! Yes even at 2 days before my due date I'm asking for prayers that I don't go into labor just yet. Good news is I have the urge to eat again, yum an orange and sandwich sounds good.

Blood clot hemorrhoids - TMI

Just in case you were wondering, but if not this gives me something to do to not think about pain. I swear going through this is going to make child birth seem to easy! I hope.
I called around and talked to my obgyn nurse and she recommend I see a rectal surgeon. She was able to call his office and get me in today at 1:30. The morning seemed like forever but I was so excited I was going. I read up on hemrrohiods and came to my own conclusion I must have blood clots in them. Many people say they can cut it open to release the clot. So I went in to see him and sure enough they had turn into blood clots. I don't remember much after that but him giving me two choice. Cut them open there or letting then be. He said something about me being so close to deliver that he wouldn't recommend cutting them because 1. It can start labor and have a worst time pushing. I was again in so much pain that I could think straight. I told him to do what he thought was best. I must have blanked out because the next thing I remember is the nurse telling me to get dress again and meet him in his office. I was a little confused because I wanted any relief by now. When I went in he gave me a prescription for Tylenol with codeine and told me once he cut the hemrrohiods on a pregnant lady and she went into labor that night and had a harder recovery so even though I could still be in pain for another day or two we are hoping to hold off labor until then. He was the nicest oldest man and I trust him completely but man it's killing me still. Pray for me that they go away really fast.

Last week is the hardest

So it hasn't gotten as easier since yesterday so I called my dr and talked with the nurse. She decided I go see a rectal surgeon today!
Although I'm so worried that we will have to do a minor surgery today and I go into labor within days making labor or recovery much harder. But I have gotten to the point of I would rather be able to move from my bed without feeling like I want to die.

Week 39 Dr. Appt:
I'm still showing no signs of labor, which is okay and normal. My dr likes to set up a stress test 3 days after your due date just to make sure the baby isn't under stress. We also talked about going over and being induced. He said the earliest he will schedule that is a week after my due date so by June 9th we should be very close having our little girl!

So, I'm off to see my rectal dr. And if I wasn't in so much pain I would not be this happy!!!!!!!!!

Due dates

What's in it for a due date? Nothing. I wish I never had one. Everything been going sooo good up until 39 weeks and 1 day. I felt like I got hit by a ton of bricks. Most of this, no actually all of this feeling has to do with my little hemorrhoid friends. I've had them before but this is just unbearable! I lay on my side and feel like I don't want to move an inch. I take baths, I ice it, use meds, I've even had some relief when I get so frustrated and shove it back up where it belongs, but that only last a few steps. Ugh now the oh so happy Aubrey who wants to wait until her due date or after for this little one to come wants nothing more to go into labor right now because of some hemorrhoids . So now my due date is staring me in the face and todays the day phone calls have started. No people I haven't had this baby and guess what I haven't shown ANY signs of labor, which was fine by me until I got hemorrhoids.
So other then my new friends I'm doing very well. My body even lost some weight this week. I swear I'm in awe oh how easy the weight was to put on my mission but how I'm not now. Not to worry joe and I were both chubby babies and a chubby baby I want!!! So here's to lying in bed.

39 Weeks

With my due date in one week I'm on watch now that she could come anytime, although I am preparing myself to wake up next Sunday still pregnant. This past week sleep has really had it's own schedule. I guess my body is really preparing myself for motherhood already. I've also kicked up the sweets a little to much and the walking champ less and less. She is constantly moving and makes it really hard when she hang out around my ribs ( I'm guessing because of that pain she hasn't dropped yet). Last week my Dr. checked me once again and like normal I've had no progress of going into labor.
I've done so much more in the nursery now and will have to get pictures up soon and hopefully get all the DIY links up too. We have our bags packed and will be ready whenever she comes.
On Saturday we took a tour of the hospital and although it was quick it was nice to see where we will be at.

Baby on Board- Baby Shower

My trip down to California for the baby shower has come and gone so quickly! It was nice having it so close to my due date to keep me focus on that goal but now I need to get these Thank you cards out before she comes!!

38 Weeks and I'm turning around

I only say I'm 38 weeks and turning around because I thought it would be a good idea to take some birthing classes. Well, with just a few weeks left we only found 1 that fit our schedule before she came and it was an all day class that was going to cover everything. We could have easily skipped the first half...why do I need to see 2 women have their babies natural in all their pain and glory? and spare me the crowning shot...and placenta. I thought Joe was going to throw up right there! plus, we were dying when you see how old this video was. I'm sure it's older then me! oh well, I guess it was good to do once. We did enjoy the second part of the day, including the video of the happy lady with her epidural and the great message I got from Joe while I sat on a birthing ball practicing my breathing. I was so interested in the video of the epidural because I always hear it was this huge needle and yada yada yada...and just until recently I didn't know they put a catheter in and it kept the meds going! Well, after watching it Joe and I both agree my nightly shots in the butt during the first trimester with progesterone is just the same, if not worst. No longer does getting an epidural scare me...I'm ready for the good stuff.

They now say my uterus is the size of a watermelon! really? I watermelon! wow. For now I try to get in bed around 10:30 and rest while she moves around and when she starts sleeping I try to also. Then I'm usually up again at 4:30 and depends on the day if I'm up for 30 mins or 3 hours before I get some more sleep.
Yesterday I really caught up on my sleep and Champ and I practically stayed in bed until 5pm having cat naps. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to sleep when she comes and take her naps, but I'm sure now I'll be so tired that I'll be napping too!

What to expect when your expecting
After a long day in class I insisted that we go out to see this movie to have some comedy in this serious pregnant learning day. The movie was packed and yes a lot of prego ladies. It was an okay movie. I liked it, but a little different then I expected I guess, if you think you would want to see it go..it will be good. It had some humor and some tears. I loved that every women shared a different side of pregnancy. Just like every women carries her baby different in her body we all have different ways our body will deal with pregnancy.

I can now understand why many women at the end of pregnancy are sooo ready to be done and wish upon everything that their baby will come early or even on time. While I'm so excited to meet our baby girl most of the time I love placing my hands over my belly and just feeling her move around. I love seeing my pregnant belly. I love when Joe and I talk to her. I love her safe inside me. What scares me even more that we don't know when or if this will happen again so I'm trying to soak up every bit of this pregnancy and enjoy every ache and pain and happiness that this baby girl has brought to our life! I never thought I would get to have this day and sometimes I don't want it to end because I'm afraid this could be it. We got lucky once with treatment but you never know what will happen next. So I just wanted to write down my feelings of how lucky and blessed I feel and pray for all that are still on that journey to get to pregnancy. It's a hard long road but you never have to do it alone!

37 Weeks and counting...

This past week I got to go down to California for my Baby Shower and what a crazy fun week I had. Now, here I am at 37 weeks and feeling like a huge pregnant lady. This must be what it is like when you get old, your mind still thinks you can sit up with no problem until you get half way and fall back down. Even though I've stayed pretty active my body has been able to move around a lot easier before.
I'm starting to feel braxton hicks which just help my body prepare for labor. I usually get them walking champ or at target and I have to breath and walk a lot slower until it passes. I'm feeling more pressure down there even though my Dr said yesterday I'm not dilated at all her head is still pressing right at my cervix.
Again I had the joy of my Dr checking to see if I was dilated at all and it took what seemed like forever for me and lots of pain because of my good old high maintenance cervix that no one can find. I'm sure this had something to do with my infertility.
Now that I'm home from California I realized the next thing is getting ready to have a baby and "nest". Let's be honest...I'm always a nester, I love to sew, and do projects and this is nothing new. This week I am so excited to make a ton of crib sheets  though from my favorite fabric that my mom used to make a quilt for me. With just 3 or 4 weeks left I have made a list of things that I can do to keep myself busy, and to be honest...with hot weather here and my 80 year old body...it takes me twice as long to do something so I'm glad I have some time.
I was tested positive for strep B (which has nothing to do with strep throat), it's an infection down there that can make my baby sick if she gets it during the birthing. Nothing scary about it, they just have to know to start me on an IV of antibiotics when I go into labor and keep it going every 4 hours. They know what they are doing so I'm not worried, plus this is common with 1 out of 5 pregnancies. 

36 Weeks

This little girl is growing!!! We are doing so good this week.  I'm feeling great and right now the only battle I'm facing is iron. My Dr. have told me to up my iron because I don't have enough, but when I do I am no longer regular in the bathroom area, then I get little friends that I don't want and my Dr has told me I have to hope they go away after delivery. ugh! but hey, if that's all I'm dealing with right now I am one happy pregnant lady! Who knows how the next few months are going to treat me. This week I got to go down to California for my baby shower and thanks to my husband and mom taking me half way so I could be watched. At the end of this week I'll be considered full term!

35 week Dr check up

35 weeks already and I had a great Dr. Appt. first I want to say that I don't know how I did it but I have stayed within my wanted healthy weight gain so far! This has really surprise me because I easily put on 20lbs on my mission.i might have to thank my first born, mr champ for keep begging me to go on walks/hikes. Anyways, good start on the appt. then he looked at my high ultrasound results and said it's(my placenta) 3inches from cervix so I'm good to have a vaginal delivery. He did my strep B test then checked to see if I was even open. Nothing yet, which is good but he could feel the head or her head pressure. Yep, she is head down and ready and after 20mins of walking I feel like she's giving me the waddle. Oh ya I waddle! I love it, I love every min of being pregnant and while I am more then excited to have her here I'm trying to take in just her and mine last days together where no one can take her from me! I'm sooooo bless to have this miracle come into our life.

Remembering the mid-night hiccups

Lately it's been so on or off with sleep. I've heard it before but my body is preparing me for my little girls wake up calls in the middle of the night. Some nights I sleep just fine and even sleep in and others I'm up for 2-4 am wide wake with her have hiccups or just to excited feeling her move around. I have really felt a huge difference in this past month being pregnant. The first part was hard because I was cautious with everything and feeling uncomfortable, but I'm now feeling much better having a huge belly in my way. It's 4:35am and she had the hiccups for a few minutes then she started moving around and I think she's ready to let us both go back to sleep. I'll update tomorrow about the good dr. Visit I had the other day, let's just say the placenta needs to be so far from the cervix for a vaginal birth and my dr said he feels comfortable enough to go ahead with that. He doesn't seem to think it should be a problem anymore! Goodnight my friends. Just a few more weeks or do and I'll be up feeding my girl!

35 Weeks

Another week has come and gone and I'm getting that feeling that I should really finish this nursery we have for her, because we know their isn't one extra inch in our room for her.
Everything is coming together, it just happens to be that I picked projects to do for her room that take a lot of time, or at least when you have a huge basketball in your way and can't move much. I would post up pictures of the projects coming along but that would mean I have to take pictures up load them and move around more then I want right now. haha
I'll be going to my Dr. on Tuesday and will know his feelings on C-section or not.
I got ready for the day early this week and thought I would take a picture because I wasn't sure the next time would be, but then I took another one after church today so here are two 35 week pictures...enjoy!

Last week was infertility awareness week and I want to blog about that sometime soon, and my feelings on this pregnancy coming to a close. Who knows if and when we will be able to have another....so I'm cherishing every moment I have with this crazy monkey inside me!

It's almost noon and I've changed my outfit 4 times now (something I did often before I turned 5) and I don't have anywhere to go today...I just need to  be comfortable!
I'm trying to hold out till 35 weeks to get my moo-moo that I've always needed!

Big as a Balloon 34 Weeks

I'd say so....
Here I am at 34.2 Weeks and feeling like I'm at that watermelon stage!

So every morning, yes every morning I go to my iphone and look at my pregnancy apps that tell me little things about my pregnancy for that day. Sometimes it's way off warning me about morning sickness (haven't thrown up once) and sometimes it's more informative.

Today was a very informative day and ease my concern for my double the size belly:

"Lately you've been so bloated that you fell like you're ready to pop. This is most likely caused by your slower metabolism, which has lessened to allow baby to gather up all of those much-needed nutrients through your blood stream after each meal...."

I thought Awesome, fatten up Brinley!

Happy Week everyone

New Dr.

I have know for a while now that I would have to find a new Dr. in Utah and very late in my pregnancy. We were up here a few weeks before my insurance with my husbands new work would start so I was a bit concern then. I had a ward friend in CA who delivered her first baby up here and really liked him as a Dr.  She was told by a labor and delivery nurse that he was great! So I took her advise and made an appt to see him. Just as I hoped for he is everything you want for a L&D Dr.  One of the greatest features is the L&D hospital is just a few floors down from his office! Yes, he was late for my appt. because he was delivering a baby!!
We went over everything and talked about my lack of iron and low lying placenta. So he went ahead to order a ultrasound that will measure everything and exactly how close the placenta is to the cervix. It has never been covering and hasn't caused any bleeding (thank you!) but my previous Dr. has said if it's within an inch I will have a C-section.

Two days later-
My mom was visiting and came with me to the appt. It was a full bladder kind of appt. The ultrasound tech lady was so nice. She was able to get all the measurements she needed while chatting with my delightful mother who was a proud grandma to be. I can't remember what came first but I remember she measured Brinley's head and I voiced that I was concern because my husband and all his brothers had big heads as babies. Luckly, she said she was below average (nothing to be concerned about). She seemed happy that the placenta wasn't covering, but I already knew that. She measured 3cm, which coverts to 1.18 inches....so I don't know where that leaves me! I guess I'll have to wait and see what my Dr thinks about that.  The best part was pictures again!!! I have soooo many pictures and I love it! Here's the newest:

Her room is really coming together too and I'll take a picture this week before we get the crib up. 

I'm really getting uncomfortable now, especially after our hikes, whooa takes everything out of me but I do it for Champ!

33 Weeks

Wow, Where is the time going? I feel like I just woke up and I'm over 30 weeks. This is great! I'm learning new moves to get my shoes on and feeling out of breath coming up the stairs, but lets be honest, can you really gain 20lbs and not have to learn new tricks? Baby Girl seems to be doing great because of all her moving around, but we will see again after today Dr's appt. I should know soon of a birth plan.
Here we are after church...

It's funny because I looked back at all my pictures and can't believe how big I thought I was and I was barely showing!!! I think we all go through that, but it's so funny to see it almost week by week. Now that I just stay at home and work on projects getting ready for the day has really gone down hill...and I expect this to continue when I don't have time when taking care of a baby. At least I still have my walks/hikes with Champ. I'm cutting it down to 3 times a week so I don't die. I really move slow these days.

These are a few of my favorite things...

I'm not done with this pregnancy thing, but here are a few things I haven't been able to live without..


1. Before I even needed new jean's my mom spoiled me with these great Gap always skinny Jeans . They have been my favorite since I got them. They will last you your whole pregnancy too and you'll feel a bit more stylish then you would in anything else.

2. My aunt introduced me to this product long before I was pregnant. It makes your legs look amazing in the summer. As soon as I got pregnant I would lather this on my belly after showers and I have never ever dealt with itchy skin.  It truly holds in all the moisture it can and I feel like it's done my growing belly well! I love the gel factor too!

3. I heard I started getting bad heartburn early on. I kept a bag of tums in my purse everywhere! Just a month ago we were apartment hunting and in one of the offices they had samples of new tums that are like breath mints. I took some and were addicted. So much better then any other tums and it was great to carry around in the purse! I swear by these!

4. I have a hard time drinking enough water, but when I fill up my camlebak bottle...I seem to drink twice as much during the day. So, invest in a good water bottle you'll love and drink up!!!

5. My good friend Ashlee told me before Christmas time to get the book Baby Bargins to learn how to 1. save money and 2. figure out what you really need to buy for your baby and when! They also have a great website that will give you information if things are recalled and other great tips. I was hooked reading this book on Christmas day and every time I pick it up I soak up it all!!! get the book on amazon for next to nothing!

Growing Pains

Someone PLEASE tell Brynn to starting growing outward and not upward.....my ribs are going to be bruised for the rest of my life. 

31 Weeks

It was moving week and boy, being 30 weeks pregnant and moving really takes a toll on your body and mind!

We drove up to Utah in 2 day and I felt fine during the drive. We made a stop every 2 hours and walked around which was good. After we got here it was non-stop apartment hunting, in and out of the car, and up and down stairs. I was so pooped!

After a few days of that we found a place in Salt Lake City, UT and Joe flew home to pack up the moving truck while I thought I was going to have a very easy relaxing week with my mom in Midway, Ut at our Quilting retreat. 

Turns out I did just a little bit of this....

 That belly really helps me float!

31 Weeks in all my swimming glory!

This is where I was most of the time! Sewing my brains out. I even stayed up until 2am on the last night to finish a sweet quilt I made for Brynn's Blessing day. I love it and glad I finished it there with expert quilters (Patti Peterson!)

So I haven't talked much about my last trimester but I want you know I feel every bit pregnant now...to the constant heart burn, to walking like a penguin! My belly gets all the attention, as it should! I'm just trying to get everything settled with getting a new ob/gyn here and finally getting her room in order! Such a tiny little person has so much stuff!! 

Here's to just a few more months before we have a little life we are looking after.

29 Weeks

I decided if I didn't take a baby bump shot tonight I wasn't going to get one this week...so with PJ's on and all...I showed it off to the camera night time style. 

This week I'm starting to feel that being 5"3 and having a short torso isn't going to be fun. I'm feeling Brynn's legs or arms or something always around my ribs, and if I sit to long I feel like she is reaching my boobs! HA! 

I am loving dressing this bump but I have a feeling that sometime soon that I won't find anything in my closet to cover it. I'm still getting some good heartburn and that's about it. 

I'm really looking forward to turning 30 weeks this Saturday!!! Moving up to Utah and get going on Brinley's room....2 months of unemployed and only nesting!! whoo hoo!!!

I get to see Brinley again on Tuesday as my Dr. wants to see me one more time before we move and have to find another Dr. He also wants to go over my glucose test (which came back great) and talk about my low iron. I know have to take 2 iron pills a day with 2 fibercon pills to help the waste keep moving :) I'll ask him to take home some pictures if I can of her. I figure she'll be here before we know it though so either way.

Also, The moment I have been waiting for since I found out I was pregnant was last week....Ellen's Mother's Day show opened her application processes. Starting last week you could apply to get picked to be on her Mother's Day show (which if you have seen before you know what I'm talking about...if not...it's pretty much christmas times 10 for you and your baby). This takes place on May 10th and I'm hoping I get a call back to be invited!!! fingers cross to all my dear prego friends out there that are trying with me!!!  Either way, I have everything I ever wanted and can not wait to start our next chapter in our life. With the move right around the corner we have been doing some furniture projects BIG time...my favorite moment was when I had to run into Home Depot to pick up more spray paint for Joe and I felt like I was a lady walking around with a pregnant belly and alcohol. haha...spray paint and pregnant ladies do not or should not mix.

28 Weeks!!! Welcome Third Trimester

Wow! 2/3 the way done?

She is 2.5lbs now, and 15 inches long!

Nothing new in the past 2 weeks, so not much to say right now...maybe I'll update more later!

27 week Dr. check up

Well, I saw the Dr last Tuesday for my monthly check up.
Nothing new to share about the placenta, still in the same place, but not giving me any trouble.
One thing Joe and I noticed right away was how much bigger she got on the ultrasound screen. She's a wiggle girl. She is looking good in there growing and giving me some growing pains. I weight in 15lbs total now which is ideal for my dr. and I.

The next day I had my glucose test. Joe had been asking me to do it since I was 26 weeks but I didn't want to. I heard it was awful stuff to drink but I knew I was going to do it. Joe actually tried a sip before me when I wasn't looking and said how okay it was. I didn't have to fast just make sure not to eat between drinking it and getting my blood drawn. It was fine until the last sip...but then again I always hate taking the last bite or drinking the last sip. An hour later I got my blood drawn and everything is normal there. All in all is what a test and I was just fine with it.

26 Weeks

 

This is what a vacation does to you, right? come back a bit heavier?

I have grown leaps and bounds now and loving that I actually feel and look pregnant. 

Brinley is constantly moving. I notice it a lot more after I eat meals. She tries to punch out of both ends. 

It's funny to think I just sit and stare at my belly when she dances around....gosh, it will be 10 times worst when I actually see her face. I wont get a single thing done anymore!

I can not wait!

One thing I have notice this week is the pregnancy brain. I will forget things or words so quickly. I try to think really hard and not blame it on the pregnancy but I don't know what else to do. 

I felt my first contraction while we were in Hawaii. My stomach got so hard and I felt like I didn't want to walk because it was tight. Haven't felt it since. I did have a tiny bit of bleeding this week so I'm taking it extra easy because my Dr. said if it happens again before my next appt. in a week in a half to call the hospital and head in for evaluation. To me that just means Bed Rest...boo. 

Other then that I'm doing great!

100 days to go...

 

Well, I hate counting down because we all know and have heard that babies will come when they  want to come. Some come really really early and some test their mom's patient  way before they arrive and show up late. So with this post saying I have 100 days left...It's more like I have 100 days left until she is full term and then I will be ready for her arrival. 

Being in a swim suit for the past week and not showing off my bare belly people give me these looks....like I'm hope she pregnant because she has a big gut.

Why isn't she going all the way in the spa? maybe she isn't fat but pregnant.

(The best was Joe was showing me the right way to make a basket in the pool basketball...and anytime I jumped I felt like a whale coming back down...hahah) I think I created a lot more waves then he did.

25 Weeks!

Here I am 25 weeks into this pregnancy and enjoying our "Babymoon" in Hawaii. 

I feel like I'm hiding a basketball under there. She moves a lot still and enjoys carbs!

I take Tums with me where ever I go and try to drink water more and more. Somehow that was so easy in the beginning but I do love having a slip of soda here and there. I feel bigger,  but I see pictures and don't feel as big as my stomach looks. I love walks and glad I can enjoy that again for now. I try not to put stress on us and keep us health. 

I have to say when we flew over here I swear she moved up higher like she knew we were going up in the air. It's an amazing feeling. We just love our little bun in the oven. We are so glad we were able to take this time to run away together and have a good vacation. I can't imagine what vacation will look like bring a baby! whoa!

They say my uterus is the size of a soccer ball (I just laugh)

She weighs more then a 1lb and a half. 

From head to heel she measures about 13 1/2 inches. 

She will now start gaining some baby fat!
